Achillion was built from 1888 to 1891 for the Empress Elisabeth. It is located in the village Gastouri. The palace was named Achillion in honor of Achilles who was much admired by the Empress. After her death it was purchased by the Emperor of Germany Wilhelm the 2nd. During the two World Wars the palace housed a hospital and military headquarters. After the World War it became public property.

In Achillion you can admire paintings from Italian, Austrian painters and the Corfiot painter Aggelos Gialinas. In the reception area is a mural painting of Achilles dragging the dead body of Hector on his carriage in front of the walls of Troy. There are also personal items of Elisabeth and Wilhelm. There are statues of the nine muses and two large statutes of Achilles in the wonderful garden.
